Food, menopause and Phytoestrogens

Phytoestrogens are plant based constituents that are chemically structured in a similar formation to the main female hormone oestrogen. They are 1,000 times less powerful than the hormone oestrogen but there consumption has been scientifically and anecdotally accredited with addressing menopausal symptoms of hot flushes and night sweats, assisting cholesterol levels, reducing the risk of breast, ovarian and prostate cancer, and they are accredited as being a powerful antioxidant.


Foods with Phytoestrogens

As all phytoestrogenic foods have the potential to decrease menopausal symptoms and reduce cardiovascular risks associated with ageing as well as being an excellent antioxidant it may be beneficial to eat a variety of phytoestrogenic foods to enhance menopausal health.


Some women find that changing diet is enough to decrease or eliminate menopausal systems however for some women further assistance is required.
